This post might be a little NSFW due to the images attached, so be cautious.
The British website Fabulous Mag has conducted a survey asking the visitors of their website (men and women) about their most ideal body type for a woman, and the results came quite shocking. It seems men and women have very different ideas about the perfect female figure. According to the results, it has been found that:
- Women yearn for the waspish waist of a size 8 model; men hanker after a curvy size 12 with hips.
- When men were asked what they would alter about their partner’s appearance, the majority said they were perfectly happy. In fact, the only thing they’d wish for that their women would love their bodies as much as they do.
- When asked about which female celebrity has the best body, men chose the English model/actress Kelly Brook as their ideal prototype, while women favored the English actress/model/singer/TV presenter Myleene Klass.
So girls, don’t blame us men for the long hours you stay in the gym or for the extensive months of deprivation you have to put up through to gain the perfect body. It’s your own delusions that have been keeping you away from that Haagen-Dazs pint in your fridge. Us men are reasonable creatures (well, sort of), we ain’t demanding much.

You know what? That reminded me of an incident I had a few weeks ago. My friend’s big brother is looking to get married, so we were all gathering together coming up with a list of ‘eligible bachelorettes’ for him. Anyways, we picked one girl who we thought was perfect for him. We knew she would be at a certain place at a certain time and so we sent him there along with his mother so they could see the girl. He was quite impressed with what we told him about her, and we thought she was gorgeous anyways, so we thought everything will run smoothly .
It didn’t. He didn’t like the way she looked or something mundane like that. But she was gorgeous, I tell you, like Ashwariya gorgeous or like Lamees gorgeous, if that’s your thing.
Anyways, next time we told him about another girl, of whom we all thought highly of, but didn’t think her pretty like the previous girl (we didn’t think that was a huge factor in the equation but it was no less important since he gave us a pretty specific list and prettiness was required).
He saw her, and he fell in love. He came back raving about her, how beautiful she was and how natural she looked and all that. We were all bemused by this, the girl is quite plain, and didn’t really fit what he was looking for. But he told us that she was pretty in his eyes, and it isn’t just the way she looks, it was the way she ate, the way she talked, the way her eyes seemed to sparkle (-his words, not mine, I was pretty much mute by then, because I didn’t think men thought that way..)
Are we really too harsh on ourselves? Are these strict guidelines we put for you or for us? And who’s opinion matters the most on this topic?

Shai, Allah ywafga ya rab. He sounds like a cool guy. That’s fate for you.
As for the topic in hand. Being fit and in shape is for yourself and for yourself only. I love my body and keeping healthy is for my own well. If some person thinks I’m too skinny or not “the fav type” that’s the lasts thing I care about.
Ppl shud start living for themselves; others will appreciate u as u are.

Yeah that is impressive and quite true.. men do love the curves. Think of it this way, if she’s skinny already, by the time they get married and have a few kids she would have gained some and reached that “perfect body” :p
AND it would help if you hade the NSFW in the title ;/

LOL still the kelly chick doesnt look like a size 12 (the ideal
)….
Different men have different tastes… just like different women have different tastes ..
Most importantly work out to keep healthy not neccassarily to fit in some tight skinny jeans..
LOL and i agree with 3baid ;p the majority of the time women would just take it as lies

Kelly Brook is really hawt! Something good to look at is different then the woman you want to spend your life with.
A size 8 is very nice to look at!
I can’t really think of a perfect woman..
But I would like someone like Eva Mendez.. Curves are very important!

I don’t think it’s really blaming “men,” so much as it’s blaming the media. Both men and women get bombarded with images everyday of the perfect woman’s body. And while you may brush them off as unrealistic (good job if you do), a lot of men and women don’t. Many guys do end up being blinded to different kinds of beauty because of their “ideals,” and many girls end up making themselves crazy trying to fit those ideals. These aren’t “delusions”; it’s a kind of social conditioning.
And, in reference to the study, how do you think women above a size 16 feel? Plenty of beautiful, fat women still see this study and still think they fall short. Furthermore, when this study suggests guys believe Kelly Brook has the “best” body, do you really think women are going to start chugging down the Haagen Dazs and loving themselves? Women want to be, as Marquoz says above, “really hawt” too.
This study serves a specific purpose: to be reassurance to women who are around size 10-16 (thus alienating those below and above). But even the celebrity ideals at the end defeat this goal. Not to mention it disregards the idea that women, either of favorable or unfavorable body types, might become prettier to the guys that get to know them.
Thank-you for sharing such a thought-provoking article. I enjoyed reading your response to it.

“real women have curves not bumps” just wanted to say that.
From experience I say it all depends on who is attracted to what it is he/she is attracted too no one person is the same. So who’s your perfect woman?
Posted by nusoul20 on August 13, 2008 at 1:14 am
I can see why men like that kelly. big boobs. men would drool over anything with that much boobs. girls like “almost”
everything small; small breast, butt, waist..etc. that why our standers are different. we like femininity and cuteness more.

If your medically over weight than you really need to lose some lbs otherwise you’re at risk of future problems like heart disease.
If you’re a woman of 6′ feet than you’re probably going to naturally be at your healthiest a size 12 just because your body needs the balance on the hips and shoulders to keep you up right.
If your a woman of 5′ feet than you’re possibly an 8 at your healthiest. What is a size 8 any way? It’s different in every shop! It’s not about size, it shouldn’t be, it should be about how healthy you are and how good you should feel in your skin. Don’t be ashamed if you’re a fit and healthy size 12.
And curvy doesn’t mean bumpy. Being overweight and obese is not OK. You need to treat you body as a temple and give it what it needs.

Regarding the top pic w/ the 3 models…I’ll take the size 8
Regarding the Kelly Brooks versus the other girl Kelly Brooks it is…
Bottom line…depends on the woman….just cannot accept obese girls of any sort….
Posted by igorson on June 24, 2009 at 2:49 pm
Oh…and all of the models in the original pic are pretty….none of them are obese…

The bodies of the women in the last to pictures look the same, except the first has bigger boobs. All that tells me is that if you’re not lucky enough to have beg cans, but are still small, you’re still not what guys want.

I’d like to see what all those women look like without all the photoshopping.
I am a size sixteen. That model is not a size sixteen. Size sixteen women don’t have such prominant collarbones, nor do they have flat bellies with only a shadowed hint of roundness. Look at Cloe Marshall. That is a size sixteen beautiful woman.

I think the problem is most men don’t realise that the girls they drool over are actually size 8’s, like Kelly Brook. When they hear ‘curvy’ they think ‘big boobs’ and so they obviously say they prefer curvier girls. Looking at Kelly Brook and Myleene Klass, I would say on the basis of this report that actually men and women find the same type of women’s body desirable. Both Kelly and Myleene are small with flat stomachs, thin legs and have larger breasts.
