Mangas I Picked

Fruits Basket

This book is hilarious and has a unique sense of humor. The story follows an orphan high school girl (Tohru Honda) that resorts to live in the family house of her friend Yuki Sohma (in which she is secretly in love with). Tohru soon discovers Sohma family’s secret, and the reason why Yuki is so private and secretive: thirteen members of the family are possessed by the 12 animal spirits of the Chinese Zodiac including Yuki himself. The book sees Tohru in her new life with the family and how she gets adjusted with the Shoma’s family.

Death Note

This is one of the most interesting manga I have ever got to read; and it has an original story like no other. The story sees a high school student named Light whose life undergoes a drastic change when he discovers a mysterious notebook, known as the “Death Note”. Death Note’s instructions claim that, if a human’s name is written within it, that person shall die. Light is initially skeptical of the Death Note’s authenticity, believing it is just a prank. However, after experimenting with it and killing two criminals, Light is forced to admit that the Death Note is real. After meeting with the previous owner of the Death Note, Light seeks to become “the God of the new world” by passing his judgment on criminals.

  2. Haven’t read Fruit Basket, but I read Death Note and finished it right before the start of the Anime! They indeed did the Manga justice in the Animation. If you liked the Manga you’ll love the Anime! Especially the soundtrack.

  3. Very nice! I’m going to be watching Death Note soon, but I have some other anime to watch! Also check out Claymore, it seems to be an interesting anime, you can find it on Animesuki under series!

Yes make sure to do so…it’s soooo good 🙂

I want to watch the anime but I thought I would start reading the manga first. Fruit Baskets is similar to Tsubasa Chronicles…if you have read that.

I heard about Claymore but I don’t know if I like medieval anime. I never liked Flame of Rica for example but there’s no harm of giving it a try. I’ll check it out.

Good good you will be disappointed.
