Worldwide Happiness

[click to enlarge]

This is a very interesting world map right there. Based on the map above, Kuwaitis aren’t exactly the happiest people on Earth but they certainly have it better comparing to the rest of the region. Several things we note from the map:

  • Emirates and Omanis are among the happiest people on Earth and the only ones in the Middle East that managed to break from the usual Middle Eastern gloom.
  • Venezuela is the only South American country with the highest percentage of happiness.
  • Almost all African countries are unhappy.
  • Japan needs to cheer up!
  • Papua New Guinea, unfortunately, has deprived Australia from becoming the world’s happiest continent.

    Do you know what kind of criteria they used to base their statistics on? From simply looking at it I thought it must be either “financial stability” or “tourism” ?

  3. I can agree the Omanis and Emaratis are Happy, you can see that and I hope they remain that way..

    I just hope things improve in Kuwait.. they need to and soon! The average person isn’t the happiest person in the current circumstances!

  4. I think my happiness accounts for half of Kuwait’s happiness, or America’s happiness in this case!

    I don’t think there is a criteria. The map was based on the results obtained from a survey conducted by the Social Psychologists of University of Leiceter.

    Hmmm, good question. I’ve no idea to be honest :/

    @Marzouq
