Which Woman Has The Perfect Body?

Women favored the slim body of Tillie, while men lusted over Anna's size 12 figure.

This post might be a little NSFW due to the images attached, so be cautious.

The British website Fabulous Mag has conducted a survey asking the visitors of their website (men and women) about their most ideal body type for a woman, and the results came quite shocking. It seems men and women have very different ideas about the perfect female figure. According to the results, it has been found that:

  • Women yearn for the waspish waist of a size 8 model; men hanker after a curvy size 12 with hips.
  • When men were asked what they would alter about their partner’s appearance, the majority said they were perfectly happy. In fact, the only thing they’d wish for that their women would love their bodies as much as they do.
  • When asked about which female celebrity has the best body, men chose the English model/actress Kelly Brook as their ideal prototype, while women favored the English actress/model/singer/TV presenter Myleene Klass.

So girls, don’t blame us men for the long hours you stay in the gym or for the extensive months of deprivation you have to put up through to gain the perfect body. It’s your own delusions that have been keeping you away from that Haagen-Dazs pint in your fridge. Us men are reasonable creatures (well, sort of), we ain’t demanding much.

You know what? That reminded me of an incident I had a few weeks ago. My friend’s big brother is looking to get married, so we were all gathering together coming up with a list of ‘eligible bachelorettes’ for him. Anyways, we picked one girl who we thought was perfect for him. We knew she would be at a certain place at a certain time and so we sent him there along with his mother so they could see the girl. He was quite impressed with what we told him about her, and we thought she was gorgeous anyways, so we thought everything will run smoothly .

It didn’t. He didn’t like the way she looked or something mundane like that. But she was gorgeous, I tell you, like Ashwariya gorgeous or like Lamees gorgeous, if that’s your thing.

Anyways, next time we told him about another girl, of whom we all thought highly of, but didn’t think her pretty like the previous girl (we didn’t think that was a huge factor in the equation but it was no less important since he gave us a pretty specific list and prettiness was required).

He saw her, and he fell in love. He came back raving about her, how beautiful she was and how natural she looked and all that. We were all bemused by this, the girl is quite plain, and didn’t really fit what he was looking for. But he told us that she was pretty in his eyes, and it isn’t just the way she looks, it was the way she ate, the way she talked, the way her eyes seemed to sparkle (-his words, not mine, I was pretty much mute by then, because I didn’t think men thought that way..)

Are we really too harsh on ourselves? Are these strict guidelines we put for you or for us? And who’s opinion matters the most on this topic?

    • I think everyone has there own idea of who they would like the best. What noone is focusing on is..long term. Yea, maybe you found your perfect body match. but yrs, down the road we all get older. none of us (including men) are invincable to ageing.
My spelling may not be great but my point is right.
I am 40 yrs. old I was (still am for my age) very hot, won many contestes for sertain things..but when it comes down to it.
who do you want to cuddle with when you are old.( don’t get me wrong, me and my hubby stll go at it) but does it realy matter what the person you chose to be with is still perfect? c’mon..we are all deeper than that!!
So Shallow people ..hope ya have alot of vasoline and toys..

Shai, Allah ywafga ya rab. He sounds like a cool guy. That’s fate for you.

As for the topic in hand. Being fit and in shape is for yourself and for yourself only. I love my body and keeping healthy is for my own well. If some person thinks I’m too skinny or not “the fav type” that’s the lasts thing I care about.

Ppl shud start living for themselves; others will appreciate u as u are.

  5. No matter how much you tell her she’s beautiful, she’ll only take it as LIES @_@ *horror*

  7. […] body type Just happened to stumble upon this blog post. Looks like it’s out of the UK. Men prefer women with curves, apparently. Check it […]

  8. Yeah that is impressive and quite true.. men do love the curves. Think of it this way, if she’s skinny already, by the time they get married and have a few kids she would have gained some and reached that “perfect body” :p

AND it would help if you hade the NSFW in the title ;/

  9. Posted by Fiend on August 11, 2008 at 2:17 am

LOL still the kelly chick doesnt look like a size 12 (the ideal :P)….

Different men have different tastes… just like different women have different tastes ..

Most importantly work out to keep healthy not neccassarily to fit in some tight skinny jeans..

LOL and i agree with 3baid ;p the majority of the time women would just take it as lies 😛

  10. Kelly Brook is really hawt! Something good to look at is different then the woman you want to spend your life with.

A size 8 is very nice to look at!

I can’t really think of a perfect woman..

But I would like someone like Eva Mendez.. Curves are very important!

  11. I don’t think it’s really blaming “men,” so much as it’s blaming the media. Both men and women get bombarded with images everyday of the perfect woman’s body. And while you may brush them off as unrealistic (good job if you do), a lot of men and women don’t. Many guys do end up being blinded to different kinds of beauty because of their “ideals,” and many girls end up making themselves crazy trying to fit those ideals. These aren’t “delusions”; it’s a kind of social conditioning.

And, in reference to the study, how do you think women above a size 16 feel? Plenty of beautiful, fat women still see this study and still think they fall short. Furthermore, when this study suggests guys believe Kelly Brook has the “best” body, do you really think women are going to start chugging down the Haagen Dazs and loving themselves? Women want to be, as Marquoz says above, “really hawt” too.

This study serves a specific purpose: to be reassurance to women who are around size 10-16 (thus alienating those below and above). But even the celebrity ideals at the end defeat this goal. Not to mention it disregards the idea that women, either of favorable or unfavorable body types, might become prettier to the guys that get to know them.

Thank-you for sharing such a thought-provoking article. I enjoyed reading your response to it.

  12. but kelly brook is not a size 12!!!!!!

    • Posted by Lasey on December 3, 2010 at 1:36 am

This is from the UK. A UK size 12 is a US size 8. To get the UK size, add four to the US size.

      • Posted by NuMystic on February 10, 2011 at 7:15 pm

Sorry but even with the adjustment there is absolutely NO way that Kelly Brook (in that picture or any other I turned up on Google Images) is a US size 8.

Google “Mariska Hargitay on Size 8 Body” and you’ll see what an actual size 8 looks like. Still beautiful and sexy, but considerably heavier than Kelly Brook.

Clearly British men may think that a size 8 (US) is perfect, but when asked what they like based on an actual “ideal woman” it’s considerably smaller.

    woohoo im a size 8 😀

  15. Would love to see the reverse done, i.e. what the supposed perfect male body is

  16. “real women have curves not bumps” just wanted to say that.

From experience I say it all depends on who is attracted to what it is he/she is attracted too no one person is the same. So who’s your perfect woman?

  17. Posted by nusoul20 on August 13, 2008 at 1:14 am

I can see why men like that kelly. big boobs. men would drool over anything with that much boobs. girls like “almost” 😛 everything small; small breast, butt, waist..etc. that why our standers are different. we like femininity and cuteness more.

  18. thanks ..nice pictures

bull. kelly brook is actually really thin. she just has large breasts and a bit of hip.

  20. Posted by Joss on May 26, 2009 at 11:42 pm

If your medically over weight than you really need to lose some lbs otherwise you’re at risk of future problems like heart disease.

If you’re a woman of 6′ feet than you’re probably going to naturally be at your healthiest a size 12 just because your body needs the balance on the hips and shoulders to keep you up right.

If your a woman of 5′ feet than you’re possibly an 8 at your healthiest. What is a size 8 any way? It’s different in every shop! It’s not about size, it shouldn’t be, it should be about how healthy you are and how good you should feel in your skin. Don’t be ashamed if you’re a fit and healthy size 12.

And curvy doesn’t mean bumpy. Being overweight and obese is not OK. You need to treat you body as a temple and give it what it needs.

  21. Posted by igorson on June 24, 2009 at 2:47 pm

Regarding the top pic w/ the 3 models…I’ll take the size 8

Regarding the Kelly Brooks versus the other girl Kelly Brooks it is…

Bottom line…depends on the woman….just cannot accept obese girls of any sort….

  22. Posted by igorson on June 24, 2009 at 2:49 pm

Oh…and all of the models in the original pic are pretty….none of them are obese…

  23. Posted by Helena on July 21, 2009 at 3:48 pm

The bodies of the women in the last to pictures look the same, except the first has bigger boobs. All that tells me is that if you’re not lucky enough to have beg cans, but are still small, you’re still not what guys want.

  24. Posted by Cyndi on September 20, 2009 at 11:20 am

I’d like to see what all those women look like without all the photoshopping.
I am a size sixteen. That model is not a size sixteen. Size sixteen women don’t have such prominant collarbones, nor do they have flat bellies with only a shadowed hint of roundness. Look at Cloe Marshall. That is a size sixteen beautiful woman.

  25. Posted by Abby on October 30, 2009 at 7:56 am

I think the problem is most men don’t realise that the girls they drool over are actually size 8’s, like Kelly Brook. When they hear ‘curvy’ they think ‘big boobs’ and so they obviously say they prefer curvier girls. Looking at Kelly Brook and Myleene Klass, I would say on the basis of this report that actually men and women find the same type of women’s body desirable. Both Kelly and Myleene are small with flat stomachs, thin legs and have larger breasts.

  26. Posted by Barky on January 3, 2010 at 4:19 pm

I don’t know any dude who likes size-12 chicks. For me, and most of the guys I know, the skinnier the better, as long as she’s got nice boobs as well. Not an easy combination to find!

  27. Posted by anon on January 21, 2010 at 2:22 pm

Thats fucking retarded to think that a womans body cant have curves without being a fat fucking bitch.

And that one idiots comment especially highlights stupidity, was about when women get married, have a few kids they gain some and reach that ”perfect body”

By gaining ugly fat and drippy skin?

You clearly dont lnow anything about the female body and your ideals are from the dark middle ages.

    Fucking chubby loving basement dwellers.

  28. Posted by BS on March 15, 2010 at 11:48 pm

Bullshit. I’ll date the size 8 girl in the middle any day. But the 12 on the left and 16 on right both need to get their disgusting fat ugly a—-s outta my sight

  29. Posted by blah blah blacksheep on March 18, 2010 at 6:14 pm

That size 16 is hella smokin hot. However, most 16’s I see have a beer gut, not a nice, overall curviness. Different humans evolved in different parts of the world to be attracted to different body types. I’m of German/Bavarian (mountain) blood, so maybe I’m just more attracted to a bigger girl who can carry her weight well. Means she’s got some muscle to go with it.

  30. Posted by Lolita on April 17, 2010 at 4:11 pm

Does no one find it . . .contradictory that the ‘size 8’ model is NOT a size eight? I’m 5’8 myself and a size 5 and I’m not that thin. Air brushing aside, the models (size 12 and 16 included) are distorted.

  31. Posted by George on June 14, 2010 at 2:56 pm

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the girl in the middle (size 8) is prob the most accurate ideal body in a man’s eyes for a woman.

  32. Posted by Sara on September 11, 2010 at 9:13 pm

I remember reading an article in Cosmo years ago written by a guy about how men prefer “heavier” women to thinner women. The article basically came down to breast size, not weight. He stated how heavier women usually had bigger boobs than thinner girls, but how thinner women could have both with surgery and “recovering quite nicely.” Men in the article talked how their gf lost a lot of weight and in turn lost a lot of her breasts. He said he wanted her to gain weight to get the breasts back. They stated over and over how a small waist didn’t compare to big breasts. So basically, it’s not a size 3 or a size 8, it’s breast size. If Kelly Brooke was an A cup, the men wouldn’t prefer her body, and if Myleene was a DD, she would be the male ideal. This society is all about making women with small breasts feel bad about themselves, it doesn’t have much to do with weight.

we are what we are, no one is the same as any one else, in our body shape, or what we look for in a mate. be healthy in WHATEVER size that is natural to you (I am naturally uk size 10 -12, and when i used to starve myself, I became very a unhealthy small ten, but my friend is a natural size 6 and very healthy). The key words are ‘natural and healthy’. just be yourself, instead of being unhealthy, either skinny or obese.

  35. Posted by Matt on June 2, 2011 at 6:58 pm

As a guy I would just like to say that I have no idea where they get “men’s ideal” is a size twelve. My girlfriends have mostly been from size zero to maybe size six – with the average being around size 2 to 4 depending on the type and brand of clothes. I have some friends who claim they are into “fuller-figured” women, but I think honestly it’s more of a self esteem issue, where they either think they can’t get someone more fit, or they don’t want to date someone other guys will be constantly hitting on so they don’t have to compete for her affection. I don’t mean to come off as a bigot or anything, but in my personal opinion, when you hear all these people talking about “real women” having “curves”… and getting offended by Barbie dolls being skinny, etc. – I find it just as offensive that they’re saying any woman who isn’t over a certain size or weight is unhealthy and not a “real woman” whatever that means. I think that slender, fit, and healthy is just more attractive in both females and males – not to mention better for life expectancy and overall health.

I once dated a girl whose increasing chubbiness made me rigid. I had to think of other women just to keep it up during sex. Although I cared about her, her flab was ruining our sex life. When she told me she was comfortable with who she was I left. It’s not what I had signed up for. Weight gain is a kind of betrayal.

  37. Posted by RMC on October 17, 2011 at 10:07 am

This whole article is just crap. I happen to be a size 8-10-12. Most often a 10 but it honestly depends on who made the cloths. At 5’7″ and 30 years old, my body looks nothing like the women pictured. My focus is on my health. I eat healthy, and exercise daily, but lets face it; there are some things that factor into how the whole package goes together beyond diet and exercise. If I wanted to look like these women do, I would need a ton of plastic surgery. That being said, I do consider myself attractive, thin and fit. I plan to continue right on as I have been. I just hope that people stop measuring themselves against what is ideal for other women/men, and start measuring themselves against what is ideal for them. You can be a little heavy and healthy, or you can be a little slim and healthy. Who gives two bits as long as you are healthy.

“Don’t worry, Be happy”. Love yourself the way you are. what attracts people to you is you personality, if you sulk about yourself, no one loves a sucker or a “complainer”, but if you are always happy, people will like you. though its better to be kind of slim than be too flabby, Just be moderate, healthy and “Be Happy”
